(-x^2 + 5x) - (6x^2 + x - 2)

Opening the brackets , we get

= -x^2 + 5x - 6x^2 - x + 2
Separating like terms, we get
= -x^2 - 6x^2 + 5x - x + 2
= - 7x^2 + 4x + 2
Hence   (-x^2 + 5x) - (6x^2 + x - 2) = - 7x^2 + 4x + 2
