Advancement in technology led to the increase in the sophistication and growth of the weapons
capabilities. This influenced he amount of arsenal base for the commander in chief to command
in the country. Since the president is the commander in chief, he is, therefore, able to control the
most powerful weapons and thereby be the most powerful man on earth. The current use of the
presidential power contradicts the executive power as in Article II of the U.S. Constitution. The
president today exercises more power than was stipulated by the article in the constitution. They
have the authority to hold information from the other departments of the government such as the
houses and the judiciary.
2. How does our two party system work to protect our liberty?
The two party system enables the protection of the freedom of the citizens of the country in that
it allows the people for once to elect one of the two candidates depending on their choice and
feeling towards the policies and plant the candidate has in the country. The presence of opposing
parties in the houses enables the government or the ruling side not to impose rules that would
affect eh citizens by being opposed and given an alternative side to their side. This enables the
people to be protected from oppression and policies that would undermine their liberty.
