Description
2004 Monte Carlo SS. The Shift knob (handle) broken off of the shift assembly (automatic transmission). Luckily for now we are able to push down on a white plastic piece (plunger) inside assembly and it allows us to move from park to drive ect. We know we need to buy new handle, but what about this broken plunger still inside the assembly? Do we need to buy a whole new assembly for this? Trying to look up parts all morning. No luck. Links or part number would be appreciated.
Explanation & Answer
No there is no need to change the whole assembly only shift button will be replaced. Here's are some links.
