A vision is a future desired result, a goal in other words. It can be set by an individual or
a group that is an organisation or an institution. This paper ought to talk about a school vision

for the school. The vision statement is to serve as a foundation for a bigger strategic plan. This
vision statement will entail key themes set to achieve the vision. They include; leadership, the
stakeholders and the many objectives layout to achieve the final goal. This paper will explain
broadly how these aspects are set to arrive at the vision itself. The objectives are what drive the
leadership and the stakeholders to attain their main vision. The purpose of this paper is to lay out
a relevant vision statement and how every single person in the institution should contribute to
achieving the set vision.

A vision statement is a proclamation of the objectives of an organisation or an institution.
Its intention is to guide the decision making of those who are in the institution. It is meant to
drive every single person towards the set goal as it analyses the goals of the institution. It also
brings together the people in the institution knowing that they have a common vision which they
all ought to achieve. In this case, the vision statement created to generate a vision for a school.
To create this vision the leaders, the stakeholders and the objectives of the school should have
an influence.

Every leader has a personal leadership style that defines him or her. A leadership style is
a leader's way of governing people, the set strategies in his or her leadership and how he
motivates the people he governs. Therefore, there are various styles which any leader can choose
on how to govern his or her people. These styles include; democratic, paternalistic,
transformational, transactional and authoritarian. The most applied are authoritarian, democratic
and transformational.

An authoritarian style of leadership is whereby a leader likes to be seen in charge and
maintains such a relationship with those he or she governs. It is mostly a command giving a form
of leadership. There is often no room for dialogue in this. A democratic style of leadership
involves group decision making where the people being governed are given the opportunity to air
