We continually talk about how risk is an everyday part of our lives but fail to explain how we mitigate that risk. A minute example would be driving a car. Obviously going 80mph in a steal box is dangerous. In order to mitigate and minimize the risk we experience, we simply put on our seatbelts. This can also be applied on a larger scale to the critical infrastructure of the United States. You asked us to not forget the single greatest threat to our infrastructure: neglect. Yet, our electric grid has been neglected for decades. The American Society of Civil Engineers just gave our entire energy infrastructure a grade of D+ since much of it is 40 years or older and needs to be replaced (Rhodes, 2017). Consisting most of powerplants, transmission lines and transformers, the United States must mitigate our decaying and neglected infrastructure in favor of cleaner energy for the future. In recent political news, in order to mitigate the effect of green house gases and curb global warming, newly elected Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) unveiled the Green New Deal which calls for removal of fossil fuel usage, upgrading or replacing “every building” in the country and overhauling transportation to limit the use of air travel. She also suggests removing “farting cows.” While bovine flatulence shockingly contributes to a significant portion of greenhouse gases and global warming, it remains unlikely that America’s 100 million cows will be exterminated any time soon (Breuninger, 2019). Regardless of the farting cows, mitigation remains a key component to AOC’s strategy within the Green New Deal and seeks to limit global warming.Breuninger, K. (2019, February 7). Visit the World Health Organization web site. Look up the current status of Ebola and Leishmaniasis, and compare them to a disease (of your choice) that occurs closer to where you live (consult Figure 8.6 in your text for information). What organisms cause the three diseases? What is their current distribution and prevalence? What environmental (think of natural environment, not their home environment) and social factors (that affect the environment) contribute to their spread? Does any treatment exist for the diseases? 1-4 pages required.

ELM 360 GCU Health Unit Plan Discussion
Benchmark – Science/Health Unit Plan
For this assignment, you will create a unit plan containing three individual lesson plans designed for the students outlined in the “Class Profile.” Choose a grade level for the students, then select an NGSS from the physical, life, or earth/space sciences, as well as a health/nutrition standard from your state, for the 3-lesson unit. You may adapt any previous assignments in the creation of this mini-unit plan, as long as the three lessons form a planned, cohesive unit. Use the 5E lesson plan template for each of the three lesson plans.
In your unit, design the three lesson plans so that they:
Use a variety of teaching strategies and technologies that encourage the students’ development of critical thinking and problem solving.
Use strategies that create opportunities for students’ active engagement in their learning and promote a supportive learning environment.
Incorporate the use of digital resources to promote effective verbal, nonverbal, and media communication techniques while creating opportunities for active inquiry, collaboration, and supportive interaction in the elementary classroom.
Integrate formative and summative assessment techniques that measure all four DOK levels, and provide students feedback on their learning so that they can make adjustments; and
Use differentiated strategies to meet the needs of all students in the “Class Profile.”

Write a paper (500-750 words) outlining how disorders such as Trisomy 21 occur. Be sure to address the following questions:When does DNA replication take place in the cell cycle? When do strands of DNA form chromosomes? What is a replicated chromosome? How does this differ from a chromosome pair?Is a cell containing replicated chromosomes haploid, diploid, or neither? Why?Why is anaphase important and unique in terms of chromosome number?Students should use a minimum of three scholarly sources.
