Firearms have played a crucial role in the protection of people in everyday life. They
have been capitalized in the fighting in wars, helping in the enforcement agencies for the local
and state government. In addition, families have employed the usage of firearms in the protection
of their livelihood from attacks from malicious individuals. This has remained to be an effective
way of ensuring that the people of America are safe from terror since it will increase selfdefense. The United States of America has had many changes to the law that governs the right to
keep and bear firearms or guns.
In the beginning, guns were right of every citizen or individual in the United States of
America for the protection of their rights and life. Some of the reasons to why the people of
America were permitted to exercise the usage of firearms include. Firstly, was for their security
and defense in case of any attack or security issue. Therefore, in the past, firearms or guns were
capitalized for defense, and this encouraged the United States of America to remain peaceful
since everyone was regarded to be secure (Zimring, 2009).
The people of the past have learned that the citizens could also use firearms just like the
settlers who freely owned them. This was not for earlier purposes like hunting but also
protection. Therefore, they learned that their actions were regarded to be importance because the
guns were used for protection of life. Therefore, it is much important to employ the usage of
weapons in the right way because they ensure security in America.

The usage of guns has been contributed by leaders due to the understanding of its
significant on securities of its people. For example, it started early when George Washington led
a motion of security free government. They recommended that all people between the ages of 16
and 50 had to provide themselves with good firelocks. Other representatives such as John
Coburn and Benjamin Butler also fought for the protection of “rights, immunities and
privileges”. They advocated for the rights of citizens to keep and bear arms for security purposes.
