Description

Graduate students generally have obligations that they did not as an undergraduate students . As such, it is important to be aware of how your time is being spent and how to use time effectively as a resource.

Complete Parts 1 and 2 in the "Time Monitor Worksheet." In Part 1, monitor all that you do within a 3-day time period and record these activities in the worksheet's time log. In Part 2, write a short 250-350-word reflection about the experience of logging your time.

Part 1: Time Monitoring Log

  1. Use the time monitoring log provided in the "Time Monitor Worksheet" to write down what you did each hour of the day, starting at 5 a.m. and ending at 10 p.m. Even if you do not get up until 10 a.m., you still need to record 5 a.m. - 9 a.m. as “sleep.”
  2. Do not overdo the recording; record the primary activity for the hour. At most, record two activities per hour.

Part 2: Time Monitoring Reflection

On Day 4, review your completed time monitoring log from Part 1 and take a serious look at how you use your time each day. Use the questions in the worksheet's instructions for Part 2 to guide your writing.

APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

You are not required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite.

Note: Your final submission of Part 1 and Part 2 must be typed into the worksheet provided. Your assignment must be submitted as a single Word document.
