2C4H10 + 9O2 ----> 8CO2 + 10H2O

b) How many moles of CO2 can be generated if 4.9 moles of butane are allowed to react with excess oxygen?

2C4H10 + 9O2 ----> 8CO2 + 10H2O

2 mol       9 mol       8 mol      10 mol

4.9 mol                   x mol

x = (4.9 * 8)/2 = 19.6 mol
