I did this problem but don't know how I did it. The following square table is covered by a circular tablecloth. If the sides of the table are 2 feet long (a = 2), find the area of the tablecloth.

The circular tablecloth will have the same diameter as the length of the sides of the table.

So, its radius is 1. Then the area of tablecloth is given by pi(radius^2) = pi(1^2) = pi(1) = pi
