The movie Pay It Forward shows how a person or child can overcome the hard obstacles and struggles in their lives to push through and help others. A seventh grade boy named Trevor Mckinney was the son of an alcoholic single mother, who was given an assignment by his Social Studies teacher to come up with a way that they could make a difference in someone’s life within their society. The boy after some thought came up with the idea to kill someone with kindness, by choosing three people in his community and pay them with gratitude. As he performed this act Trevor asked each person to turn around and also do the same deed to three other people. This action could be considered a bit unrealistic for what he was experiencing in life, but had the reality of spreading a positive reaction to others.
Sometimes psychologically thinking personal conflicts of people should force them to act in a manner of misery instead of helping others. An act of kindness to this scales will bring about some people with skeptical thinking that will try to shut it down, however it was the perseverance in Trevor to continue on pursuing his project, and through this determination he is able to not only reach his mother and teacher but many others as well. This movie creates the background that a society made up of many different characters and live circumstances can do little acts to improve their living conditions and interaction among each other.
The results that came from this teacher offering these kids just a simple class project affects us still today with people paying it forward in our world today. We see three conclusions from this movie that we should use within our own lives in this real world of people with problems. First any person can be affected with change by someone else. Secondly there are more people than we realize that need our help. Lastly the majority of people within our societies have a sense of gratitude to give when they are offered assistance in giving it. Sometimes we bottle up our gratitude because life circumstances over shadow the thankfulness that we all carry.
In every movie we watch there is a life experience hiding in there for all of us to gather, and Pay It Forward shows that one single person has the ability to influence so many lives. But there is one requirement and that is having determination and understanding that there is enough confidence in your deed to shine. Search deep within and set goals of accomplishment, credibility, and provide evidence that a persuasive argument of showing kindness can help change the world.
