Gleizer 1 Research Paper Description and Bibliography Ashley Gleizer Mandatory Palestine and its effects on the Jews and Arabs led to a bitter struggle for power that has still not been put to rest. The British Empire and its inability to form peace between nations led to a generation long battle that should have never started. Judaism, Christianity and Islam, all have claims to ‘The Holy Land’, so in 1929 when there was a series of riots called the “Wailing Wall Riots”, that led to over 200 total deaths, there was an obvious problem in Mandated Palestine at the hands of the British. Unfortunately, the British Authority should have seen these riots and the attacks that came after coming. The British Authorities’ inability to attempt to restore peace between the Jews and Arabs while under their control, proves that they added gas to the fire that still burns in current times. Over and over, this story will repeat itself, even after the 100-year-old mandate is over. For example, in 1946, the Irgun, led a terrorist attack on The King David Hotel where both Jews, Arabs and British soldiers died. The Times, in London covered this story and when analyzing their interpretation of the situation, it shows that they have a clear bias. The bias is many times against the Jews. independence and well-established government, Israel's case is no exceptions. This journey was
coupled with many indifferences between political, world war, religion and even imperialism at

intervention by the British forces centred in the debate between pro-Israel and pro Palestine
