Assignment 3 Submission: Reflection
First of all, take a deep breath and pat yourself on the back—you worked through the writing and
research process to develop a persuasive essay. This is no easy feat, and you did it. Well done!
Now, there is just one more assignment that needs to be completed in the course, and it's an important
one. Reflection is a key component of any major project, including writing essays. It gives you an
opportunity to look back at your progress in the course, as well as look towards future degree-specific
courses.
For this assignment, you will write a reflection that explores how you chose to incorporate feedback
concerning your argument, exploration of the issue, and effective source integration into your
persuasive essay as well as how your incorporation of resources supported your claim. Additionally, you
will note any challenges you faced in incorporating resources and developing your argument throughout
the writing process.
Be sure to look over the assignment guidelines and rubric (Attached) to make sure you're fulfilling each
aspect of the assignment.
Constructing Your Reflection
Answer the following questions to help you consider how you ultimately incorporated feedback from
the Writing Workshop in Module 4 and how you handled any challenges during the writing process.
Each response should be one fully developed paragraph in length (5-8 sentences).
1. What peer review feedback did you choose to incorporate concerning your argument and why?
2. What challenges did you face in developing your argument? What could you have done
differently?
3. What peer review feedback did you choose to incorporate concerning your exploration of the
issue and why?
4. What peer review feedback did you choose to incorporate concerning your effective source
integration and why?
5. How did your incorporation of sources support your claim? What challenges did you face
throughout the writing process?
All my feedback’s for persuasive essay
1. Nice job. The revised paragraph is well-written and easy for readers to assimilate. The one thing
I think you could do to further strengthen this paragraph would be to include one or two brief
quotes or paraphrase from your research material. –Dineen Picerno
2. I really like the way that you revised your paragraph. While you did shorten your sentences, you
also got to the point quicker and explained your ideas more clearly. You also corrected the few
grammar mistakes that I had seen. The only thing that I think you need to do to this paragraph
is to give an example or two of past and present business practices. That would give the reader
a better idea of what your point is and how you are correct. Good luck with your paper! Danielle Rogers
3. I enjoyed reading your revision paragraph. I felt you did a much better job with clarification and
detail. In the original I found myself confused during the first sentence, and in your revision it is
short, understandable, and simple. In my opinion the revision could improve just a tad as far as
readability and fluidity. One little suggestion I have is to maybe consider changing your
sentences "Such was the case, long before the dawn of the computer and Internet age.
Traditions were.." and instead merge them into "Long before the dawn of the Information Age,
traditions were...". In my opinion the "Such was the case.." sentence is just kind of randomly
injected there and it confused me while I was reading it. Also, your sentence that starts with
"Security was a concern.." is a little difficult to understand initially, I didn't fully comprehend
that sentence until I read further and understood what your paper is about. I would
recommend, if that sentence is referencing the past or past business practices, using terms like
"used to" "previously" and explain either how or why security was a different concern than
today. I would suggest saying "previously security was such a concern that businesses had to.."
or "Another concern for businesses was security, where companies previously had to.. 'enact
extreme measures such as..' or 'be wary of dealing with certain people/practices' or 'have higher
protective measures'." Anyways, I hope I helped and I enjoyed reading yours. Good luck with
your paper! –Chelsey Welch
4. You did a good job; technology allows small businesses to reach new economic markets. Rather
than just selling consumer goods or services in the local market, small businesses can reach
regional, national and international markets. Retail websites are the most common way small
businesses sell products in several different economic markets. Websites represent a low-cost
option that consumers can access 24/7 when needing to purchase goods or services. Small
business owners can also use Internet advertising to reach new markets and customers through
carefully placed web banners or ads. –Isaac Aryeetey
