The chapter 'From sea to Shining Sea', details the evacuation of Native Americans in California
by the missionaries through violet extermination and forced removal, and missionaries took their
lands. It also narrates how Mexicans' lives were affected by the conquering and colonization of
Mexico by the United States of America. The chapter details how the lives of Native Americans
in California and Mexico were affected by the missionaries and the United States of America,
respectively, as they were being forced out of their lands. The term 'Manifest Destiny' describes
the belief that white Americans were superior and were destined by God to conquer Northern
America's territories and expand United States borders. As the author notes, the patriotism of
white Americans to the removal of indigenous people from their lands justifies why the US's
attempt to expand its borders in the northern region had such a significant momentum.
