A Paralegal is an individual who is trained on matters pertaining the law, they are able to work
for law firms or under a lawyer in the government or different institutions that require the
services. They act as the clerical support for most of the law related work needed by lawyers and
the different institutions. They can therefore also be called legal assistants.
A Paralegal is qualified to be called one if they have the qualifications through study, training
and have the experience through work. The attorney is liable for every work that the Paralegal
does through the conduit theory. This means that everything that they do is under the instruction
of the lawyer and so they themselves are not liable.
