Question description

Several of this week’s readings focus on the recent interdependence of homeland security and the criminal justice system, especially law enforcement. Think about whether homeland security and the criminal justice system can be separate entities, or whether it makes sense to combine the two.

Please respond to all of the following prompts in the class discussion section of your online course:

  • What are the pros and cons of using fusion centers to conduct intelligence work? Support your answer with examples.
  • How has the increase in homeland security changed law enforcement at state and local levels? Have you experienced any of these changes personally, and if so, how?
  • In the years to come, do you think we will be more affected by intelligence work at the local or federal level, and why?

And 1 responses to the below question:

I think the more the worlds progresses the more U.S citizens will be affected by intelligence work being done by the government. More laws will be created and less freedom will be granted. This will take place at the federal level the most because they are responsible for the greatest laws that will affect us the most.
