Let t hours be the time the second train travels when the two train meets

By that time the first train has traveled 2 x 75 + 75 t = 150 + 75t

The second train has traveled 125 t

Hence 125 t = 150 + 75t

subtract 75 t from both sides

125 t - 75t = 150 + 75t -75t

50 t = 150

Divide both sides by 50

t = 150/50 = 3 hours

Hence the distance traveled by second train = 125 x 3 = 375 miles

(first train has also traveled 150 + 75 x 3 = 375 miles
