connected to guidance and counseling to most people involving dealing with customers
experiencing difficult situations and choices, feeling of worry, feeling of missed opportunities
and need for someone to listen and aid in understanding the conditions. Helping has two primary
goals based on the needs of the client that are helping them manage their problem leading to
productive lives through the development of available opportunities and helping clients become
better people at helping themselves in their daily lives through the development of their abilities
to manage the problem. A helping relationship has mutual benefits for both parties particularly
between a counselor and a patient. This relationship can make differences in the outcome of the
services offered if it is effective (Young, Domene and Valach 67). An effective helping
relationship assists in healing a patient through an open, trusting relationship that facilitates
sharing of information vital in identifying and solving the problem bothering the client.
