AWS Management Console (Dashboard) and embed it below. The

2. Launch a Windows Virtual Machine (VM). Provide a detailed overview of
the steps required to install the Microsoft Windows operating system on the
VM. The steps may be listed in bullet points or complete sentences. Use as
much space as required. Finally, take a screenshot of the desktop and
embed it below.
The steps for installing Microsoft Windows operating system on the VM are
providing below:
•
Login to AWS using a username and password and navigate to EC2 dashboard on
to the AWS web page.
•
Click on Launch Instance and choose the Microsoft Windows Server 2019 64
Base AMI
•
Check the free tier option and select t2.micro then review and launch.
•
In the scenario, leave the configuration in default settings and proceed to launch.
•
Create a new key pair and give it any name.
•
Download the Key Pair after which the username.pem file will be
downloaded to the computer.
•
After downloading and saving the key pair, click on ‘Launch Instance’ to
start Windows Server instance.
•
On the next screen, click ‘View Instances’ to view the instance.
•
After launching the instance, retrieve an admin password and connect to it
via a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client.
•
In order to connect to the Windows virtual machine instance, a user name and
password is needed. Keep the user name as defaults of “Administrator” and
to receive the password, click ‘Get Password’.
•
To retrieve the password, locate the Key Pair created. Click Choose File and
browse to the file where username.pem file. The Key Pair appears in the text
box. Click ‘Decrypt Password’.
•
A decrypted password for the Windows Server instance is now available.
•
Save the Windows Server admin login credentials (username and decrypted
password.
•
Click on ‘Download Remote Desktop File’ and proceed to open the file.

3. Using AWS, create a network file system with Amazon Elastic File Systems
(EFS). Use the AWS Use Cases web page for step-by-step instructions. Take
a screenshot of the result and embed it below. Specifically, take a
screenshot of verifying your file system has been successfully mounted, and
the results of creating a test file in your new file system by running a simple
dd command to generate a 1GiB file in your new directory. Finally, describe
the value of a network file system.
A network file system is very valuable to an organization. It offers security,
availability as well as scalability. It permits a central management which reduces
the need for extra software or disk space. It enables locally placed users to access
data and files remotely. It enables numerous computers to utilize similar files
enabling all users on the network to access similar data. A network file system is
also valuable because it reduces storage costs and offers data consistency as well
as reliability.
