(f+g)x = 8x-2 +2x-3..........I understand how to work the problem by combining terms... but I'm unsure of how to put my answer? Please help

Given functions f and g (f(x)= 8x-2, g(x)= 2x-3) , how do I perform the indicated operation?


f(x) = 8x - 2

g (x) = 2x -3

f(x) ---> g(x)

The result of f(x) is sent to g(x)


(g x f) ( x) = g ( f(x))

Step 1: Define f(x) = 8x-2

                        g(x) = 2x-3

Step 2:   g (f(x))

            This means substitute the f(x) equation  into g(x)

              2 ( 8x -2) -3

                16x - 4 - 3

                 16x - 7

Ans :  16x - 7
