dy/dx = x * (1/x ) + ln (x) = 1 + ln x

At x = 1, instantaneous rate of change of the function = 1 + ln 1 = 1 + 0 = 1

Ar x = 2, instantaneous rate of change of the function = 1 + ln 2 = 1.693
