Professional and Personal Code of Ethics
Codes of ethics are morals that people believe in and the way individuals relate to one
another. Ethics, morals, beliefs, and values are considered as part of the daily life of a person.
Ethics helps to find out the way people behave in different circumstances and it helps to shape
the character in us (Somers, 2001). Realizing what is significant, right or wrong is imperative
since it helps me during the decision-making process that helps m to make informed choices. I,
therefore, believe that making decisions involves prioritizing the truth. Additionally, it is
important to consider what choices we make concerning our lives, and therefore we should
consider being motivated by our beliefs rather than being influenced by others.
My roots of differentiating what is wrong and what is right are my values that define my
daily doings and emotions. My experience from my education and family has played a
significant role in developing my personal core values. My personal core values include
excellence, honesty, integrity, and responsibility. Additionally, the influence of my friends and
parents has helped to demonstrate various approaches such as rule-based approaches that help to
get conduct my principal values. Since my childhood, my parents have taught me how to
differentiate the wrong and the right, and I believe that the morals instilled have helped to shape
my character. Ethics and values involve the way I approach my professionalism in my career
fields and also the way I conduct myself in the family.
My personal ethics comprise qualities that assist me in specifying the legitimate action
and particularly in sticky situations. I have therefore emphasized maintaining personal
responsibility, integrity, ambition to attain my goals, and love of friends and family.
Honesty and Transparency

My first personal code is being transparent and honest in my professional as well as my
personal life. As I consider preserving the right to my privacy, I consider myself committed to
revealing my professional life. I have dedicated myself not to keep information from any
individual who deserves its access. However, I recognize the genuineness and anticipate to
encounter such situations that seem unclear. These situations will take me back to my morals and
will help me determine whether I will be violating my code of ethics if I withhold the
information.
Integrity
I consider my responsible nature as one of my strengths. I strongly believe that with all
my integrity, I will always be honest and sincere in all that I do. I will always be reliable,
trustworthy, and dependable, and never will I bend any of my rules and facts for personal
benefit. I promise to create a reputation based on merits only. Additionally, I believe that
integrity is imperative in business and friendship since I cannot sacrifice my character for the
sake of doing the job. It is therefore critical to earning other individual's trust since you can never
change what one is.
Responsibility
I grip my core values fully and I always consider myself accountable for the continuous
representation of values in my professional and personal life. I will also remain strict in updating
and improving my values since am devoted to making my friends and family proud of my
personality.
Humility
I always strive to remain grounded and humble. I will not let praises and honor influence
my attitude and will always remain polite to my peers, juniors, and seniors. Also, I will ensure

that I do not mock or hurt anyone intentionally and I will stick to my personal ethics. Whenever I
am conflicted with my society and job, I will always be referring to my morals to assess my
commitment. My professional life deserves to be committed based on integrity.
Clashing of Personal Code of Ethics with Organizational Ethics
Some professional and personal ethics in the workplace may clash and end up in
conflicts. Usually, when personal and organizational ethics meet in the workplace, scenarios
resulting in stress and internal conflict may end up clashing the ethics (Vlachoutsicos, 2013).
Problems always arise in an organization when people bring their personal ethics to the
workplace and apply them to the organization's challenges. Clashes, therefore, arise because
personal ethics start when an individual is developing and learning from the parents, school, and
religion among other immediate surroundings (Somers, 2001). Personal ethics helps to govern
the life of a person and they include compassion, integrity, honesty, loyalty, friendliness among
others. It is therefore impossible to virtually detach personal ethics from business ethics. Our
personal ethics revolve around our lives. For instance, the organization's professional ethics may
change according to political, leadership, and financial climate among other factors that affect
organizational culture and how business is done (Kramer, 2019). Therefore, it is important to
look for the area of conflict to solve the problem. In some situations, professional ethics may
need diversity in business.,
Some people believe that professional ethics and personal ethics in an organization are
not related while others believe that professional ethics can be applied in an organization (Kipnis
& South,2000). However, the two are related since values such as transparency, integrity,
accountability, fairness, and commitment can be included in both business and personal ethics.

The main difference between organization and professional ethics is how the behaviors will
result and the consequences of the results.
It is possible to apply our personal ethics and beliefs in the workplace since some
personal ethics follow the same professional code. Since professional and personal ethics are
principles of morals that direct behavior, the code of personal ethics, therefore, seems familiar to
those of the business (Kipnis & South,2000). It is imperative to note that the quality of life of an
individual is directly proportional to the way an individual excels in the work commitment
despite the field one is undertaking.
