Special populations comprise of the economically

uninsured, low-income children, the homeless, the elderly,

people suffering from chronic health conditions, for
instance, severe mental illness.
The feature of vulnerability among these groups is
exacerbated by race, ethnicity, age, sex, factors that include
income, insurance coverage or lack thereof.
The healthcare of these groups intersect with social factors.

Health domains of special populations can be categorized into
three groups:
Physical- examples of these people comprise of high risk
mothers and infants, people suffering from chronic diseases.
Psychological-these people suffer from chronic mental
illnesses.
Social-people in this realm include immigrants and the
homeless.

Psychological conditions cover a broad range of individuals.
