Description

Utilizing the topic below, post an original thread of 250 to 450 words each in this week’s discussion forum.

You are attending a meeting with several colleagues discussing how to add network capacity to a remote building (500m). A more senior systems engineer suggests using fiber channel, as that is what your company has throughout. Another coworker suggests iSCSI. In your opinion, who is right and why?

Fiber channel could be the best way to add a network to a remote building. From senior
system engineer understanding, fiber channel is a technology that is used to transmit data from
one computer device to the other at a speed of up to 4Gbps. The network is best suited in
connecting computer servers with shared storage devices and basically it deals with
interconnecting storage controllers and drivers.
On his point of view, fiber channel is more flexible (it can travel as far as 10
kilometers). The engineer saw it as the best network capacity that remote building needed. Due to
this, there could be a possibility of it enabling a better and quick connection process to different
users/applicants within that locality (Lee and Edwin, 2010). He argued that there was the need to
consider the number of users that will be connected to the network at the end, considering how
far remote building might be travelling. He noted that, fo...
