Plotting of Magnetic Fields of a Bar Magnet
EXPERIMENTAL OUTPUT

BACKGROIND INFORMATION
Magnetic filed lines can be used to represent the
magnetic field.
Magnetic field lines have properties that can be readily observed. The magnetic field is tangent to the field
line and the direction of the field line can be determined and drawn using a bar magnet and a compass,
the strength of the magnetic field is proportional to
the closeness of the line from the poles, and the magnetic field lines are continuous and form loops that do
not overlap with each other which starts from the
north pole to the south pole.

OBJECTIVE
To observe and examine the properties of the magnetic field associated with a bar magnet by manually
constructing magnetic field lines.

MATERIALS
Four very simple materials were used to accomplish
the experiment which includes bar magnet, plotting
compass, pen, paper
REFERENCE:

PROCEDURE
A piece of a paper was taped into the table far away
from any objects made from iron. The bar magnet
was placed in the middle portion of the paper and
then the bar magnet was traced into the paper using
a pen.
The plotting compass was placed into one end side of
the magnet. Then a dot was drawn to the direction of
the needle point of the compass. After the first dot
was drawn, the compass was moved such that the
back of the needle lines with the dot. The steps are
repeated until the end of the magnet was reached.
Then all the dots were connected together to form a
curve putting an arrow to the direction of the needle.
Five sets of dots were drawn on top of each other following the same procedure.
Then, the north pole and south pole of...
