TOPIC PROPOSAL 1 Research Proposal Lashanda Ross Humanities March 24, 2021 TOPIC PROPOSAL 2 Topic: Humanitarian Significance of Visual Arts (Sculptures and Paintings) during War in Medieval and Modern Times Visual art such as sculptures and paintings are expressive way that artists used during the war in medieval times to address the commonly experienced problems. Today, in modern times, artists also use visual art to express their opinions and give a humanitarian significance. The form of art used in medieval times inspires most artists' contemporary work during difficult times (Karelin, 2019). Some of the common aspects of art from medieval and modern times are the use of deep symbols that remind humanity. During the war or difficult times in the nation, all artists' goal is to preach humanitarian actions on both social and political grounds. To confirm the humanitarian significance of art, the looting of artifacts in modern times triggers concerns. The concerns are due to the powerful message carried by visual arts in times of war (Andrews, 2019). The research focuses on understanding the significance of visual arts and artifacts looting in medieval and modern times. Thesis: The function to autonomy of visual art such as paintings and sculptures during war is similar during War in Medieval and Modern Times regardless of the art styles. The source addresses the dramatic celebration of death in the form of visual arts. The
traditional rites and rituals are good in enhancing a professional aspect in making things
be within a reliable standard. The source is good in explaining the significance of the arts
in the medieval times of war due to the related drama and celebration discussed in the
same.
