So L = 11 + 2W, right

A= 63 m^2

L*W= 63

Substitute L so you have just W's

(11+2W)(W) = 63

distribute

2W^2+11W=63

2W^2+11W-63=0

solve for W. Using a graphing calculator with the above eqn.:

the positive value for W is 3.5. you can plug this back in to check.

if W=3.5, then L*W=A goes to L*(3.5)=63

divide both sides by 3.5

L=18
