Explanation & Answer

let the width be "x"
so length "l" = 5+2x

given area = 63 m sq
area of rectangle is given by = length*width

so, (5+2x)(x)= 63
or 2x^2 +5x = 63
or, 2x^2+5x -63=0
or, 2x^2 +14x -9x -63 = 0
or, 2x(x+7)-9(x+4) = 0
or, (2x-9)(x+7)=0

so, 2x-9=0 or, x=9/2 = 4.5
and x+7=0, or x=-7
since width cannot be negative.
x= 4.5 m

so length = 5+2x=5+2*4.5 = 5+9 = 14

so length =14 m and width = 4.5 m
