What is the concentration of Na+ in parts per million (ppm)?


To calculate parts per million ( ppm) 

ppm = mass of solute(mg)/ volume of solution (L)

        = 118 mg/ 2.30L

        = 51.30 mg/L or 51.30 ppm

What is the final molarity when 40.00 mL of a 0.803-M HClO4 solution is diluted to 660.00 mL?

To calculate the final molarity:

Used this formula:  M1 V1 = M2 V2

M1 = 0.803 M

V1 = 40 mL

V2 = 660 mL

 Solve for M2

M2 = M1*V1/ V2

      = 0.803M * 40 mL/ 660 mL

       =  0.049 M
