Introduction
Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is a common gynecologic problem referring to
abnormal bleeding or hefty periods. Rising estrogen levels cause AUB; the pituitary gland
secretes follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone, which activates an ovum's release
at the menstrual center cycle (Cheong, Cameron, & Critchley, 2017). Signs and symptoms of
abnormal uterine bleeding include bleeding at unusual times (after sex, during menopause, and
distinctive periods), unique long periods, irregular menstrual cycles, and menorrhagia (Bacon,
2017).
Diagnosis of AUB
The uterine lining test by putting a plastic tube (catheter) into the uterus and removing a
tiny piece of the uterine lining. The lining was sent to the lab for microscopic examination. The
test showed patient has a change in the cells. Another test was hysteroscopy. A thin tiny camera
was put into the patient's uterus, and the result turned out positive for abnormal uterine bleeding.
