Question:
Discuss how the forms of academic dishonesty (Cheating, Fabrication, Plagiarism,
Facilitating academic dishonesty, Misrepresentation, Failure to contribute to a collaborative
project, Sabotage, and Theft) among students can be reflected on your career as an
engineer?

Solution:
Deciding to study engineering and consider it as a future job is not that easy decision, where it
means that you have to be a clever, passionate, and hard studying student who makes his
researches to investigate every information and ensure hundred percent that the given detail is
true and satisfies engineering rules and guidelines. However, in engineering, there are two paths,
either the successful path that builds a recommended engineer who gets assigned by great
projects or gets recruited by important engineering companies, or being a useless engineer who
just earned an engineering certificate through unethical ways like cheating in exams and
depending on someone else work just to make his parents proud of him. But what if the student
himself chose the second path which is the wrong one?

Cheating: Cheating is the action of copy-pasting someone else work and submit it as
your work.
Example: Trying to cheat during an exam or taking your friend’s assignment and copy
paste it.
Cheating during any academic test or preparation is unacceptable in all ways, and it is
highly rejected in medical and engineering courses that require advanced performances in
the future career. Besides, it will make the student feels that it is okay to depend or steal

other work, and would turn unfortunately against him in his future job because of the
feeling of being as a “habit”.

Fabrication: Fake or false information that has been unintentionally created, altered, or
reported during academic activity.
Example: Submitting false material during a project and saying it is real and true. It is
highly not prohibited, where it will also affect the student’s future job.
