For the past decades, American adults have experienced online harassment related to attitudes. According to a survey carried out in the US for approximately 10 093 US adults, it indicated that American adults faced online harassment in the form of threats, sexual harassment, and also the act of sustained harassment. Consequently, according to the report presented on online harassment, it indicated that in 2014, 15% of the US adults experienced such scenarios, which were slightly higher than in 2017. For instance, in the case of the political environment, the use of online narratives has increased over the past few years, which has led some American adults to be frustrated and stressed as a result of this notion. This goes in line with the idea that 20% of Americans indicate that they have faced online harassment as a result of political interference. While all these cases have happened and continue to happen, it is evident that social media is the root cause of all these problems. Moreover, most of the social media companies also face these cases and scenarios that show online harassment making it hard to facilitate and ensure the overall perception that is applied for the benefit of their doing. Therefore, these cases that happen more regularly indicate that online harassment has grown highly for the past few decades. For example, 79% of the companies are doing a fair job to tackle online harassment, but they have not exhausted all the limits that come therein with it. According to the findings obtained by Pew Research Center in America, in 2020, it indicated that approximately 41% of American US adults had faced online harassment, and also 25% have had more severe online harassment. This has majorly occupied and happened in the online spaces, which indicates an absolute concern on the rising issues when it comes to online harassment. Statistics show that roughly two-thirds of adults have experienced the changes that occur as a result of online harassment, and this has emerged mainly for people aged 30 and below. Decisively, the effects of online harassment have played a more significant impact on the lives of American adults. This shows how tough the situation is getting to be severe on social media and digital platforms. Statistically, 55% of American adults indicate that online harassment is a significant problem that needs to be addressed in society. According to the Pew Research Center Survey, 41% of Americans experienced some sort of online harassment and this type of harassment is boosting year to year. Some of these people who have been victims of online harassment claim that they were harassed based on their political views. I agree with part because if you pay attention to some social media posts and read people's comments you will find out about abuse and verbal harassment if the content of the posted issue is not matching with their political or personal views. According to the article “75% of targeted online abuse which is equaling 31% of Americans overall, say that their most recent experience was on social media." According to the article, 79% of those who have experienced some sort of harassment believe that social media platforms doing a fair or poor job to stop harassment on their platforms which is true. Social media should have a clear vision about bullying, abuse, and harassment but unfortunately, they don't have it or they don't intentionally want to have a restricted policy against those who commit harassment on social media. Only 18% percent say that social media platforms are doing an excellent job which is not a huge percentage compared to the value of harassment that accord on social media. Edited by Mohamad Amin Mobarez on Apr 13 at 9:11am I was surprised to learn that almost half of all Americans had endured some form of bullying on the internet. About a quarter of those users would describe the incident(s) as "severe", which is disappointing. It was reported in the article that most of this is occurring on social media. This is concerning because of how common it is for people to have social media accounts. I think there is a certain level of understanding when it comes to social media; there will always be hurtful people online, but that does not mean that anyone deserves any level of harassment. It was also found that straight, cisgender individuals were less likely to be bullied online than members of the LGBT+ community. I found it very interesting that more men than women reported being harassed on the internet. It was upsetting to me that the younger the woman, the more sexual harassment she is likely to face. Most of the young women I know have social media and it is unsettling knowing how likely they are to be sexually harassed on sites and apps that are meant to be enjoyable. The article explains that most people disagree with how harassment is handled by social networking brands, and I can understand why, especially after reading the article.

Online Harassment in America
I was surprised to find out that 41 % of Americans have experienced at least one form of
online harassment. Possible forms of harassment that have been in records include physical
threats, stalking, sexual harassment, offensive name-calling, purposeful embarrassment, and
sustained harassment. It surprises me more than online harassment has only recorded an increase
in its rating. According to Pew Researc...
