Micro-aggression
Micro-aggression is elusive, but offensive action or comment submitted to a nondominant or minority group which is always unconscious or unintentionally showcases a
stereotype: for instance when someone asks you “where are you from.” This is the microaggression I came across when I was applying for a job at a particular organization which I do
not want to mention here. Since the Human Resource Manager was not of my race, I felt that the
person was undermining me because of my minority group. Micro-aggression can be
experienced anywhere at any time. One encounters it without being prepared. For one to deal
with it peacefully, he or she needs to act positively (Sue, 12).
It is through this racial micro-aggression that I developed extensive experience on how
some groups in the country are dominant over others (Sue, 17). I felt like God could give me an
opportunity where I can represent all groups fairly without showing stereotypic behavior, a
