That is when it became known a bit more outside of Wuhan, China. This SARS like illness turned out to be another coronavirus and later officially named Covid-19. Dr. Li Wenliang would later die of the novel virus in early February 2020. News of this coronavirus began hitting the rest of the worlds news the second half of January 2020. At first it was believed the virus was only coming from the wet market in Wuhan from an unknown animal. By the end of January it was confirmed that there was human to human transmission and it was rapidly spreading. Personally, I had been following Covid-19 news since it was told to the rest of the world. It has intrigued me in a away that I cannot explain. Unlike the SARS outbreak that began in 2002, it would appear that Covid- 19 is way more contagious and apparently the new variants are more contagious then the original variant. Originally, the symptoms people were told to watch out for was fever, dry cough and shortness of breath. As Covid-19 rapidly spread so did the knowledge of more symptoms. It is crazy how widely different peoples symptoms are from one another. 1 virus that can appear in a multitude of symptoms, to the point where some people do not have symptoms or are mild, and others hang on for dear life and potentially die. Coronviruses are found in several animals, like bats, pangolins, birds, pigs and so on. Unfortunately, scientist still do not know the exact origin of Covid-19. I could have jumped from one animal to another before humans, and they do not exactly know when the first human to human transmission began. However, a closely related Coronavirus was found in bats over 1000 miles away from Wuhan. Over a year after the first known cases of Covid-19, the WHO was allowed to investigate in Wuhan, China/ The research turned up empty handed, and to no avail the origin of Covid-19 is still not known. Over a year later, several waves of the virus, new variants, nearly 139 million cases world wide and nearly 3 million deaths finding the original host would help for the future and preparing for future pandemics. I feel there is still so much more to learn about Covid-19 in addition to the plethora of information we already have. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-03-04/where-are-we-in-hunting-for-the-coronavirus-s-origin-quicktake https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/article/coronavirus-animal-reservoir-research https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/chinese-doctor-sounded-alarm-coronavirus-dies-1.5454863 Reply 1:30 PM Fri Apr 16 95% < > m AA northampton.blackboard.com + G dre Clo, a Amazon.co... Smoking... Most Americans actually smoke. They smoke because of stress, addiction, etc. People also can just be social smokers and just smoke around other people. There are also people that just smoke when they drink alcohol. Every person is different. But do you really think they think about what that one light up can do. Smoking can lead to cancer, COPD, and if you are pregnant and smoke the baby will have health problems as well. People are willing to pay 6 to 10 dollars for 20 cigs... but then complain that gas is three something a dollar. It is crazy that nicotine addiction is so high. I'm to blame as well but I vape which yes might have the worst effects in the long run but who really knows... everyone's body is different. https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data statistics/fact_sheets/health_effects/effects_cig_smoking/index.htm Reply Quote Email Author 1:35 PM Fri Apr 16 93% < > m AA northampton.blackboard.com + G dre Clo, a Amazon.co... Research and list the respiratory diseases caused by inhalation of toxic particles associated with occupations such as coal mining, farming, construction, or other occupations. 2. Research the emergence and incidence of respiratory ailments such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). 3. Smoking has many myths, facts, deliberate misconceptions, realities, profit- driven motives, taxation-driven motives, etc. associated with it. The exact topic you discuss about smoking is flexible. If you need some ideas: o should tobacco companies be held accountable (in a court of law) for the a person's addiction and/or death from smoking? o is smoking a health hazard? o are there any safe alternatives to tobacco cigarettes? o what about the profits from the state taxation (above the sales tax) on cigarettes? o does advertising encourage smoking for teenagers or adults? o should tobacco companies be banned from sponsoring sporting events? o ...and the list goes on. Coal is an essential commodity that provides the second-largest energy source in the
world. Coal has to be mined from underground and processed to provide the energy needed.
During mining, the workers are exposed to dust particles that they inhale and result in various
respiratory diseases associated with coal miners. Despite the regulations set by the government to
ensure ventilation and reduce exposure to coal dust, coal miners are still at the risk of contracting
respiratory diseases caused by coal mine dust.
Coal mine dust causes a range of respiratory diseases classified as coal mine dust lung
disease (CMDLD). When miners breathe in coal dust, the dust particles settle along the airways
and lungs, causing an immune response due to inflammation. The coal mine dust lung diseases
include silicosi...
