PSYCH635 Columbia Southern Behavioral Change Chart Psychology Paper
The course projects (two units/two separate weeks/assignments) below are related to previous projects (1&2). These projects are attached for reference since these are built off/upon those. Also attached are the unit study guides and the chart for the Unit 6 Part B Chart. UNITN 5Instructions Part A - Reflection Paper In reading Chapter 8, you have seen how difficult it can be to eliminate unwanted behavior. Reinforcing a positive behavior to replace the unwanted behavior is a necessary step, but it is not always sufficient. Here is where the trainer becomes a detective, looking for clues about what might be sustaining the unwanted behavior. Stimulus control is often found to have a powerful influence, and it can be present not only in the context of the trainee’s personal environment, but also in the larger context of family, culture, and society. Now that you understand how stimulus control operates, you can begin to see how some people become stuck when they are surrounded by an unsupportive environment. The power of stigma, prejudice, and discrimination cannot be overstated. If individuals from undervalued groups encounter a hostile environment in treatment, education, or the workplace, the stigma that they feel becomes a burden. For this assignment, choose one group that you feel that you may fall into that you believe carries some sort of stigma, prejudice, or discrimination in our society. Then, write a reflection paper that identifies some of the ways in which stimulus control could influence the behavior patterns of individuals within this group with which you identify. Be sure to utilize the theories and vocabulary from the course textbook, especially Chapter 8. Part B - Behavioral Change Chart (Course Project Part 3) Adapt the Behavioral Change Template here to correspond to your own behavior that you would like to change. You may add columns if needed, but you may not subtract any. You must complete at least four rows. Please include the stigma, prejudice, or discrimination you wrote about in Part A in the obstacle column, and look for ways that you could create more supportive stimulus control in your personal environment. Note: Include the Behavioral Change Chart in the final page of the Reflection Paper. Your paper must be at least two pages in length, including the Behavioral Change Chart mentioned in Part B.UNIT 6 Instructions Course Project Part 4 Self-Management Plan As the final component to your course project, your paper must include the following elements: A description of the behavior change you wish to establish through a self-management program. What specific measurable behaviors would you like to increase or decrease? An analysis of the behavior or behavior pattern. What factors contributed to the choice of behaving in this manner? What might be sustaining it now?Identify a theory that would apply to this particular choice of behavior.Identify the long-term benefits of changing the behavior. For example, do you expect this change to lead to better health or more effective performance at work or school?Describe the training strategy. How will you monitor yourself and track the changes in your behavior? How will you motivate and reward yourself as the changes become established?Plan proactively for obstacles. How will you manage relapses to the old behavior, if they occur? How can you support the new behavior? Your self-management plan should be at least two pages, not including the title and reference pages. You must use a minimum of three sources, which should be properly cited. All references should be formatted in APA style. Your sources should include the course textbook, the case study you selected for the Unit IV Assignment, and one additional source.
