As a manager, you fully understand your colleagues and your juniors very well, this ranges from
their strengths, productivity, responsiveness, and even their areas of weakness. The delegation of
duties should be well thought of and should be based on the efficiency and effectiveness of the
junior employee who takes the lead. Therefore, in choosing a junior employee to perform a task,
it should be based on the worker’s strengths, weaknesses, and preferences. This will ensure that
the task will be done efficiently and effectively while meeting the company’s standards and
visions. The objective of the company or any organization is to utilize the available resources
while maximizing the output. This should be the guiding principle.
Secondly, the manager should give a framework of the work to be done, why it needs to be done,
and why the manager chose to delegate the duty. This will serve two purpose, first it will serve to
motivate junior employers for the recognition of their efforts and secondly, it will serve to
remind them of the need to deliver on the work since it has foreseeable implications of bigger
roles or even a promotion in future for those who unleashes their potential in line of duty.
