Cloud computing.
In the old age before cloud computing came into existence, we had technologies such as grid
computing, distributed computing, automatic and utility computing. This technologies
restricted users on some boundaries therefore the technology of cloud computing was
introduced. In cloud computing, systems from public and privet networks are all connected to
each other to facilitate flexible and scalable applications data and file storage facilities. For
cloud computing to be available, there has to be providers who give the services, grouped
into three main categories as discussed below.
1. Software as a service
Also known as SaaS. Companies normally incur a lot of costs in purchasing servers and
updating softwares. These types of cloud computing service helps these cases by allowing the
customers a server potion with the cloud computing company (hosting) , so the customer only
pays for the service of using the servers, which is cheap. Google is an example of a company
providing SaaS.
