Question 1 Answer
Backups involve making an additional copy, or more than one copy, of certain data. It is
completely true that “backups are the holy grail of computing” for many different reasons. Most
importantly, backups are extremely crucial in IT plans as they prepare the business or individual
against hacks or data losses. With the lack of current and full backups, there is a high risk of
losing everything in terms of data.
Having good backups involves having additional copies of everything in terms of data within
an organization so that in case of any data loss, the content will still be available to the firm. On
the other hand, a good disaster recovery plan reflects a good process or plan set in place for
quickly reacting and redirecting all available resources into the attempt of restoring data and
access after a sudden disaster such as a natural disaster or power outage. Therefore, backups will
be useful and are crucial in case of accidental deletion, a certain error in terms of upgrades, as
well as certain thefts. However, disaster recovery plans are extremely beneficial in case of
complete and total crashes of networks and systems where an alternative should be set in place
for work to continue and prevent any work delays, or even a complete halt.
