Description
Create a 10-item dataset that is interval or ratio in scale of measurement (for example, height in inches of 10 people, hours of sleep, scores on their statistics quiz, et cetera). Use SPSS or hand calculations to calculate the mean and standard deviation. Create a second 10-item dataset that is nominal in scale of measurement (for example, color of 10 cars, favorite sports teams, favorite restaurants, et cetera). What is the mode? Why does scale of measurement matter in determination of which measures of central tendency and variability are appropriate? What struck you as interesting about the two datasets? Cite materials used.
