Muslim Lives Matter Movement - Outline
I.
Muslim Lives Matter movement is a recently formed social justice movement formed
to fight violence against Muslims.
II.
The movement condemns the unjust killings and brutality against Muslims from
different parts of the world and demand that Muslims be treated fairly and with
respect, just like individuals from other religious groups
III.
I believe that the terror attack of 19 / 11 has played a significant role in promoting the
kind of islamophobia we see today
IV.
Although islamophobia existed before the attack, the social and political reactions o
the9/11 attack fueled negative stereotypes against Muslims and Islam in general,
leading to intense hatred against Muslims, not only in America.
V.
For instance, there have been reports of serious Islamophobia in China, particularly
against the Uyghur Muslims

More than two million Uyghur Muslims are being detained in concentration camps in
China for the stated purpose of fighting extremism and terrorism

Not only in China, violence, and hatred against Muslims and Islam, in general, is also
witnessed in other parts in other parts

In America for example, violent crimes against Muslims have significantly increased
since 2002

The recent incident where three Muslim students were killed in Chappell Hill, North
Carolina is a clear indicator of the kind of violence many Muslims face in America.

Like in America, Islamophobic incidences have significantly increased in France over
the last year.

For example, the French government has proposed an anti-separatist law that seeks to
introduce several restrictions against Muslims.

For instance, it is reported that from the beginning of 2020, there have been 235
recorded attacks against Muslims.
