The past year has been a strange one, and from the look of things, the future has never
been more unpredictable. Charles Dickens’ famous phrase would apply in this case for “it is the
best of times and the worst of times for it feels we are all going to heaven and going the other
way” (Dickens, 1902). As such, the United States president will have a massive responsibility to
steer the nation in the right direction. This task is heavy, and the president's success will depend
on the repertoire of skills, experiences, and attributes that he or she has amassed over the years.
