Health policies are systems designed by state or federal government to create conditions that promote population health and prevent diseases while encouraging healthy behaviors. Favorable health is not achieved from medical facilities only but also from efforts to design and implement health policies and programs that improve and protect the health of each person (Tsai et al., 2018). One of the most effective health policies in the United States is the Smoking ban policies and restrictions. For a long time, the tobacco industry has been full of controversies because of health threats caused by tobacco consumption. Due to the surgeon report and Environmental Protection Agency reports, public smoking has been banned in many states across the country (Syamlal et al., 2019). Tobacco regulations started in the year 1964; initially, tobacco companies were required to label health warnings on cigarette packages. A few years later, the government barred cigarette adverts on televisions and radios. This was followed by smoking restrictions on workplaces, public places, and airplanes. Today, there over 30 States with smoking laws and restrictions in the United States.
