Over the tens weeks in the MBA 645 Optimizing Brand, I have learned some new information regarding the brand and what it takes to effectively brand your products and services. Three key course takeaways that resonate with me that I may in my current future workplace are (1) Brand Optimizing, (2) Communication Plan, and (3) Brand equity & Its Importance. In optimizing my brand, I must know what brand optimizing means. To me, knowing the meaning of brand optimization helps me to create awareness of my brand to ensure customers know that I exist and that they can purchase my products and services whenever they need them. The communication plan helps me to outline how I am going to communicate the important ongoing project information to key stakeholders (Aaker & Moorman, 2017). Finally, brand equity and its importance. Brand equity, I learned that developing brand equity is vital as it allows companies to engage with their customer base more effectively in such a way that drives brand loyalty, allowing the business to grow further (Aaker & Moorman, 2017).
When I think of an effective leader, the personal brand traits that come to mind are relevance, consistency, and uniqueness. A strong brand must be relevant in the context of bridging customer expectations and supplier deliverables. You need to be relevant to others if you expect them to give you a share of their already cluttered mind. How can you be relevant to someone? In an organization, you could be a person who others can trust. Consistency in a brand is seen when you communicate your message in a way that does not deviate from the core brand proposition. While a personal brand must always be seen to convey a consistent message, it will bring in a personal bias in any interactions. It is important to remember that what is consistent for someone could be completely inconsistent for someone else. A strong personal brand should be unique and different from the competition. It should set you apart in an unambiguous manner. You need to understand all the areas where you believe you are unique before you can leverage your uniqueness.
I am currently in the process of getting my notary business underway and I think that being a lifelong learner would help me to reach my desired personal brand image by being cohesive, clear, consistent, and aims to serve a specific audience. A personal brand is important for an entrepreneur because it is the best way to share your authentic message and attract YOUR specific tribe! I enjoyed this course and would recommend that everyone takes this course.
