Some of the excel functions that you may need are functions that would let you perform standard mathematical calculation about your finance:

Sum = add all the number together

Average = return the average of a number

Count= count the total number of cells in a range of numbers

Max= return the largest values 

Min= return the lowest values

PMT = calculate the payment for a loan on a constant payment and rate

STDEV = estimate the standard based on the sample

FV = return the future value of an investment

NPER= return the number of periods of an investment

PMT= return the period for an investment

Rate = returns the interest rate per period of an annuity
