As the otters consume the sea urchins the population of the Kelp forest increases in
volume.

This is an indirect effect because the loss of sea otter population increases the
number of sea urchins which in turn eat the Kelps.

The loss of Kelp population is a positive effect because changes in the population of
otters are mirrored by the proliferation of kelp forests.
