1. we have 8 x 8 = 64 ordered pairs of possible outcomes

The following give a total of 9 :  (8,1), (7,2), (6,3), (5,4) , (4,5), (3,6), (2,7) and (1,8)

giving P (sum equals 9) = 8/64 =1/8

2. The product of GCD and LCM = product of original numbers = 48 x 72 =3456
