Qn3
Define and describe a SAN
A storage Area Network (SAN) is a network storage device accessed by numerous computers
and servers and provides shared storage space. It is an effective swift network that is specialized
to offer a lump level network to storage. SAN is used to improve application availability,
increase storage utilization and effectiveness, and enhance application performance (SNIA,
2021).
Define and describe NAS
Network Attached Storage (NAS) is a file-level storage infrastructure that enables kept data to
connected gadgets. It is critical to note that NAS provides systems a solo contact point for
storage with incorporated safety, fault-tolerant capabilities, and management (Red Hat, 2021).
NAS works through the use of a pre-constituted storage application that is fitted on devoted
hardware.
Describe how cloud-based data storage works
Cloud storage utilizes data centers with enormous computer servers that store the data and make
it accessible online to users via the internet. Moreover, users can distantly upload their
information or file, retrieve the data and store them whenever required. The data storage uses the
servers, networks, data center operations, and storage to enhance cloud storage management and
services in the market (Lisa, 2018).
