In Christianity, Jesus was considered to be the "son of God." Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit form the Holy Trinity-- they are, in a sense, all one and the same, yet different. Jesus was like a human extension of God sent to Earth to perform God's work. Jesus was somewhat like a prophet, but he's not usually called that. Usually Jesus is referred to as the "Son of God."
