WordPerfect is an excellent alternative word processor to use instead of Microsoft Word. It offers a fully customizable interface that is easier to use than Microsoft Word and offers the ability to work with a greater number of file types. WordPerfect has most of the same basic features as Microsoft Word but does lack some of the editing tools, publishing options, and insert capabilities.

Google Docs is an online Word processor application that combines many of the products found individually in Microsoft Office or Corel Office. Google Docs is an excellent choice for users that opt for a solely cloud based Word Processor and require minimal extra features. Google Docs has a voice to text option that is convenient for mobile users but has much less built in features than Microsoft Word. Google Docs interface is not as refined as Microsoft Word and has far less editing tools, insert tools, and publishing options.

For most applications, there is very little disadvantage to using an alternative like WordPerfect for a business’s word processing needs. Cost might be an advantage for using Word Perfect but the cost is not that much different between the two products for business application licenses. A company using Google docs instead of Microsoft Word would be taking advantage of the free software but would be significantly limited for offline document creation and hindered by the lack of features available in Google docs.

I have used all three word processors listed above. I generally like WordPerfect’s interface better than Microsoft Word but not enough to switch. I use Microsoft Word at work so it is just easier to use a sing word processor for all of my needs rather than learn two different systems. I don’t like Google docs even though I use Google for nearly everything else. Every time I create a document on Google docs I find myself searching for functions or features in Word that aren’t available in Google docs.

Microsoft Word is the only Word Processing application that I have ever used. It is also the most widely and commonly known and used application. There are other applications out there for Word Processing, but it comes down to whichever the user prefers.

When it comes to Microsoft Word and Corel’s WordPerfect, the biggest difference is probably the formatting. Microsoft Word has more formatting features, but they are super simple to change and clear if you don’t want them. I haven’t used WordPerfect before but after some research, most everyone can agree that one isn’t easier to use than the other. Of course, if I were to get on WordPerfect and try to format a document like one I had on Microsoft Word, it would be easier on Microsoft Word, but simply because I am more familiar with Microsoft Word. In the legal professions, WordPerfect is the top choice for them, but when it comes to school and businesses, Microsoft Word overpasses them. Microsoft Word is also more compatible, if you are saving a document on WordPerfect and are sending it to someone who may view it on Microsoft Word, there might be issues opening the file.

While I was looking at the Office Suite for WordPerfect, it seems to have more enhanced features now. The price is almost about the same as Microsoft Office. I pay around $90 a year for a subscription to the entire Microsoft Office suite. I can download it onto 5 different devices, so that works out well for me. I haven’t had a chance to use other word processing applications, but I have been using Microsoft Word for as long as I can remember, so I highly doubt I would switch over.
