In the ancient days, rulers of nations had different ideals that governed their people.
Leaders such as Constantine and Pericles utilized varying ideals in leading their empires.
Constantine is remembered for his act of legalizing Christianity in his kingdom (Potter, 2013).
He allowed Christians to worship in open areas as in early days they were forced to worship in
secret. Pericles, on the other hand, made his kingdom an education role model to other states. His
kingdom because a center for education where all individuals were taught their constitutional
rights and the importance of thought. This paper compares the two leaders regarding their ideals
and practices during their reign.
Constantine laid a foundation for Christianity to be practiced openly. Before his reign, the
people of his kingdom would worship in private, and if caught they would receive punishments.
