Explain why immigrants to the United States during the 1800s felt discriminated against.

Immigrants during 1800s were mainly German, Irish and British. They felt discriminated because they were paid less than the locals.  The employers took advantage of these immigrants and paid women less than men. The immigrants were even physically abused by the locals because the immigrants appeared to be different to them.
